Reputed Law Firm Salans advises Linxtelecom on landmark datacentre opening in St. Petersburg
LONDON, 15 April 2009 - Salans have advised Linxtelecom, an international network, co-location and hosting services provider, on the opening of a new 5,000 m² datacentre in St Petersburg.  With an initial area of 5000 m², Linxtelecom intends to gradually expand the service area to 12,000 m² and upgrade both the electrical and cooling power to 12 MW. The launch of the datacentre will take place by the end of the second quarter of 2009. The datacentre will be the first in the North-West region of the Russian Federation which complies with the highest international standards, combining top quality industrial space with an ample supply of electrical and cooling power.  Salans assisted Linxtelecom with due diligence and advice in regard to drafting and registration of the lease, as well as individually negotiated power supply and power connection agreements. The complex structure of the contracts, together with ever-changing power industry regulations, made the project particularly challenging and unique.  Salans’ team was led by Moscow Managing Partner Mathieu Fabre-Magnan and included London associate Anna Puzitskaya, Moscow of counsel Xavier Poulet-Mathis, alongside St. Petersburg of counsel Irina Dementieva, associates Maria Kaidanovskaya and Ksenia Bruk.  Moscow Managing Partner Mathieu Fabre-Magnan commented, “Our work for Linxtelecom once again demonstrates Salans’ capability in finding unique solutions in challenging conditions. We look forward to continuing to work closely with Linxtelecom as it expands its datacentre service area.” Salans has over 750 lawyers worldwide, globally operating from 20 offices, uniquely located in a combination of international financial centres and emerging market hubs.
